Their stories remind us of the strength, compassion, and courage that define what it means to be an Aidan’s alumnae. This year’s recipient Ruby Harris (’18) inspires us through their exceptional accomplishments sport with the Emma Betts Alumni Award.
Determined, focused, and already a role model for young athletes, Ruby Harris (’18) is blazing a trail in Australian hockey. Beginning her sporting journey at just four years old, Ruby has risen to the elite level — debuting for the Hockeyroos in 2025 during the FIH Hockey Pro League in Argentina.
A UQ Business Management graduate and Queensland Academy of Sport scholarship holder, Ruby balances her athletic ambitions with a career in finance as a Client Service Associate at Wilsons Advisory. She hopes to gain her advisory licence while pursuing Olympic selection.
Ruby’s drive, discipline, and humility reflect the very best of St Aidan’s spirit — proving that success and service go hand in hand.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Ruby, a remarkable young woman whose journeys continue to inspire our community.
If you know an alumna making a difference in her field or community, we invite you to nominate her for the 2026 Alumni Awards or to share her story on Aidan’s Connect. Together, we celebrate the enduring strength of the St Aidan’s spirit.
